NotNow by Nari Jade · Last updated: October 27, 2026

NotNow helps people put distance between themselves and a habit. We built it so that what you share stays yours.

Your progress and sync

Your progress (levels, check-ins, goals, your big dream and its photo, and the first name you choose) is stored on your device and, so you can use NotNow on more than one device, also on our server. It is tied to an anonymous ID that the app creates by itself. There is no email, no password and no real name required. Linking another device uses a one-time code that expires after 10 minutes.

Coach messages

When you write to the coach, your message and a short summary of your progress (level, days left, your goal) are sent to our server and to our AI provider, Anthropic, only to create a reply. We don't store your conversations on our server. Anthropic processes them under its own commercial terms and doesn't use them to train its models.

Anonymous counts

We count anonymous app events, such as "a check-in was done" or "the app was installed", to understand what helps. These counts contain no name, no device ID and no message content. To prevent abuse, our server briefly counts requests per IP address; these counters are deleted automatically within two days.

What we never do

Deleting your data

In the app, go to Grow → "Delete all my data". This deletes your progress on the device and on our server.

Not medical advice

NotNow is a self-help tool, not therapy or medical care. If you are thinking about hurting yourself, contact your local emergency number or find a free helpline at findahelpline.com (in the US, call or text 988).

Age

NotNow is meant for adults (18+).

Hosting

The app is hosted on Cloudflare. Our server is based outside your device only to deliver the app and coach replies.
